PokerStars Stole Money From U.S. Player
By Ray Zimmerman
I am writing this Intel in retaliation to an event that occurred on April 26, 2011 by PokerStars, the world’s largest online poker site Why? Simply put, PokerStars has stolen my money. Yes, the money of a U.S. Player and I want the world to know exactly what they did and how they did it. In a previous Intel of mine (Online Poker Sites in Big Trouble) I stated, “PokerStars is currently allowing players from the United States to cash out their accounts based on their standard cash-out rules.” I made that statement because on April 15, 2011 PokerStars allowed me to cash out $61.38, which was the current balance in my player’s account without any difficulty. Within a minute I received an email confirmation from PokerStars. The following information was copied directly from the confirmation that I received from PokerStars. • Cashout request time: 2011/04/15 21:41 CT • Cashout amount: USD 61.38 • A check for USD 61.38 will be issued • Credit transaction #540914780 Then, on April 21, 2011, I received an email from PokerStars. I copied the following information directly from the email that I received to accurately document what has taken place. • We were very pleased to receive the news that allows US players to cash out their real money balances. • In response to this update, the Cashout Option in the PokerStars Cashier will be temporarily unavailable to allow us to prepare the technical solutions and formulate the plan and processes required to allow you to cash out your balance. • In the interim, any pending cashouts have been returned to your account in order to ensure players have the opportunity to cash out orderly. • Please be assured, player balances are safe. We will notify all US and US territories players as soon as the Cashier is available again. • Providing you with the facility to cash out is our top priority right now, and hopefully all US and US territories players will be able to cash out via the PokerStars Cashier in the near future. Yesterday (April 26, 2011) PokerStars displayed a notice in their poker room that U.S. players could now withdraw money from their player’s accounts. When I went to withdraw my $61.38, I was shocked when PokerStars displayed information that my requested was rejected because I did not have enough money in my account. I believe they stated that they did not know what they were going to do with my money and they might possibly give it to charity. Yeah… right! $61.38 is not a significant amount for me to worry about. This is strictly a matter of principal. After writing a very explicit email to PokerStars last night, I immediately deleted their software from my computer. At this particular moment, I wish that I did not act so rashly since I can no longer go back and document exactly what their reply was to my withdrawal request verbatim. In all sincerity, I have always had the utmost respect for PokerStars during the time that I played poker on their website. Due to their dishonesty and greed, the respect that I once held for PokerStars is now a figment of my imagination. I know that I must sound like a frustrated and vindictive individual right now. Well, I cannot tell a lie. I am frustrated beyond words, but writing this Intel has helped to relieve some of the frustration that I woke up with this morning. |

I knew gambling sites steal money from people, but had no idea they were so direct about it.

I emailed PokerStars and told them about this article and told them that I would delete it if they would send me a check for what they owed me. They tried to get my bank account information so they could do a wire transfer. I refused to give it to them because I simply don't trust them any longer. I told them to send me a check or I'll do a follow-up article.
That sucks but I do have a question. Was the money you have coming from direct deposits that you made? What I mean is I have got bonus money from sites and when you do, you can not cash that money out. Let's say I received a $100 bonus, If I ran that up to $150, I could only cash out the $50, not the $100. If that is not the case, than Poker Stars is doing something wrong.

This was from a direct deposit. PokerStars originally approved my withdrawal request, then cancelled it and then they refused to honor it. Check Google for "PokerStars Stole Money" and it's already on the first page.
I hope it works out for you. I still blame our government for this. They've had the opportunity for years to make On-Line poker legal, tax it, regulate it and do the millions of Americans who like playing poker a favor. Instead they are trying to make us criminals and forcing those that want to play to send their money to these foreign business, which can not be trusted. Just like in the days of Prohibition in which forced people who wanted a drink to by it from originated crime. That didn't work and this won't either.
